Scoring a seat on the deck at The Black Cow Tap & Grill in Newburyport in the summertime is well worth the wait. The waterfront setting sizzles in the summer months with guests enjoying the taste of the salt air, honeymoon-like harbor views, and the soothing sounds of the sea. For a perfect end to a summer’s day, enjoy a raspberry cosmopolitan with some tuna sashimi and watch boats sail in and out of the harbor. Indoor guests enjoy harbor views as well. » 54 Merrimac St., Newburyport, 978-499-8811, blackcowrestaurants.com.

The best outdoor dining on the North Shore is definitely at Victoria Station in Pickering Wharf… they have a three season patio so you can even eat outside when it’s raining or cold out

Danversport Grille and Bistro has been a great destination for us especially during the height of the boating season. Our favorite meal is the clam chowder, ceasar salad and the salmon or haddock entree!!!
March 21, 2009 at 5:56 pm
The only thing better than the view at the Danversport Yacht Club was the Chicken Oscar , wait, no, it was the attentive service!! I can’t decide – all were unparalled – the best of the North Shore! My children loved the presentation of the chicken fingers – in little boats – and the Swan ice cream dessert is a delicous treat to top of a fantastic meal!

The Danversport Yacht Club’s Grille & Bistro is my favorite…summer or winter. In summer the outside dining is outstanding, right on the river overlooking al the boats at the mirnia and the landscaping is extraordinary. Winter the Bistro is warm and cozy looking out to what I just mentioned.
They have a great bar menu with a half dozen items at less than $8 bucks. Their home made chowder is the best around.
This place merits a “10″ from me

The best place for outdoor dining on the North Shore is Danversport Yacht Club’s Grille & Bistro. It is a very appealing place for not only it’s tastyfully prepared food and reasonably priced menu, but also for the beauty that surrounds you. Meticulously manicured gardens and the Porter River are completely in view for your dining experience. Well worth a visit!

Just want to warn everyone about Stripers Grille in Salisbury. I just had the worst experience there. Invisible, rude waitstaff, dirty plates, silver and glasses. As well as some screaming lunatic at the bar, swearing and apparently drunk.. It turns out the table next to us knew him as the owner!! And to top it off, after waiting for close to an hour for our dinners, the haddock was so pungent smelling I didnt want to eat it…
