Al Fresco

Scoring a seat on the deck at The Black Cow Tap & Grill in Newburyport in the summertime is well worth the wait. The waterfront setting sizzles in the summer months with guests enjoying the taste of the salt air, honeymoon-like harbor views, and the soothing sounds of the sea. For a perfect end to a summer’s day, enjoy a raspberry cosmopolitan with some tuna sashimi and watch boats sail in and out of the harbor. Indoor guests enjoy harbor views as well. » 54 Merrimac St., Newburyport, 978-499-8811, blackcowrestaurants.com.

you have no category for “Best Farmstand” so what about in Al Fresco – Green Meadows Farm for the best organic produce and you can eat there. They make great soups, sandwiches and cookies.

The open-air bar at Plum Island Grill.

Best sunsets on the northshore…right behind the bar!

the Grapevine. the food is great and so is the service. It doesn’t have the water views but after dark that is a mute point. Their outdoor space is calm and peaceful. Very relaxing.
