There is this wonderful little funky shop in The Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester called IMAGINE Love and Peace (at 43 Rocky Neck Ave ~ imagineloveandpeace.net). The owner, Brenda, spends her winters in Thailand, Nepal, Bali and India and purchases most of her jewelry, accessories and handicrafts directly from the people that make them. With a percentage of the proceeds she directly (herself, no middle man) supports 13 children in Kathmandu, Nepal. The shop looks like no other place I’ve ever been in, it is eclectic, low to medium priced totally unique stuff. The vibe in the place is awesome, I have never seen anything like it. Really. Well worth the look. She has one of a kind handbags made by hilltribe people in N. Thailand, which are colorful, adorned with beads and old coins. She has woven palm and grass bags from Bali like no other I’ve ever seen. Her selection is awesome!

Bearskin Neck Leathers in Rockport is THE place to go for leather handbags. They have been there a gazillion years and they still offer the best in leather handbags. It remains a funky, leather store with lots of great bags!

Rockports Bearskin Neck Leathers!! That place is amazing, it’s one of my favorite places to go to, the shop is always filled with such wounderful leather pocket books, and the owner is one of the friendlest men i have ever ment!!!! Great quolity of items!!! If anyone deserves this that store does!!!!

Rockport’s Bearskin Neck Leathers is by far the best in the entire Northeast for leather bags, shoes, accessories, etc., etc. The service and the proprietor, DJ, are beyond comparison. An added plus, Rockport is a wonderful place to spend some time.
