American BBQ in Beverly is the best BBQ ever! I didn’t grow up in the south (but I was born in Virginia) so maybe I don’t know what “real” southern bbq is, but… I think it’s absolutely delicious!! The chicken is so flavorful — I don’t know how they get the meat so tender, and the sauce is to die for! Their brisket and their ribs are amazing, too, and I am completely addicted to their cornbread and sweet potato fries. So, needless to say I am a frequent visitor and a fan for life.

The American BBQ, Beverly & Rowley is the Best!!! They’re pulled pork is moist, smokey & not fatty at all. They’re ribs are fall off the bones yummy and I love there sides, like mac n/cheese & southern greens. They’re hot wings are unique, you can get them, what they call, 1/2 & 1/2 which is wet (buffalo style) & dry spiced which are sooo good. They wood smoke all their bbq right on the premise. The atmosphere is great and kid friendly with popcorn for everyone. I love that they’ll give you a sample if you don’t know what to order. It is definately worth a trip!!!

I believe the American BBQ ,in Beverly and Rowley, to be the best.The smokers they use are built in the South and are hardwood fired ……..about as authentic as you can get.The food is outstanding! Not overly smoked and nicely seasoned. In response to”BBQ Bandit”: I’ve been to the South and they plunk their bbq on Wonderbread….yummy…The bun at American BBQ is a welcomed sight so is the generous piece of amazing cornbread that comes with all entrees and is a choice with sandwiches.Not done in the South. BTW…the proper spelling of unetible is inedible…not the case at The American BBQ.Go there.My family loved it and so will yours.

American BBQ in Rowley… we discovered this place a month or so ago and have returned 4 times already! I think we’ve tried everything… my recent faves are the chicken (so moist and juicy) and the brisket… YUM! And the cornbread… don’t get me started on the cornbread. We all fight over it… Its nice, small, never too crowded. Its a nice family place where I can go with my kids, have a good meal and know we’re all going to eat well. Love the toys for the kids and the clean bathrooms too! We’ll be back!

Absolutely AMERICAN SMOKEHOUSE in Rowley. Happy – homey – and out of this world yummy. I’m nuts about the brisket. I had some yesterday! Bathrooms are always spotless. The crew is always friendly. The portions are huge. Do you get the feeling that we love this place? We drive 45 minutes from Rockport a few times a month.

i drive from revere to rowley just to go to the AMERICAN BBQ. The best damm bbq hands down. every thursday they have smoked prime-rib that is out of this world. great side dishes like beans,mac& cheese,coleslaw, and very nice kids that work there allways working and no horse play like you see in some restaurants.i ust talked myself into going for a ride now damm. oh well ribs here i come

The American BBQ in Rowley – I’ve visited BBQ joints all over the country and there are as many definitions for “authentic” BBQ as there are types of sauces! The wood-smoked meats at American are tender, lean and flavorful; the excellent assortment of sides has something for everyone (their baked beans are out of this world) and the portions are extremely generous. Prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is low-key and the staff is friendly and helpful. I haven’t yet visited their newest location in Beverly but plan to. The ONLY thing that could improve upon the Rowley location is the addition of a TV set for sporting events and such. Long live THE American BBQ!

American BBQ has the best brisket around – flavorful and so tender it falls apart. Cole slaw and french fries are also very tasty. Just got back from Dallas and American BBQ beats anything we experienced there. Dee and Emilio who serve/cook the food make it an inviting place to visit. Just finished lunch there and already making plans to go back to Rowley for another visit. The food is absolutely addictive.

American Barbecue, in Rowley or Beverly, is the best around. All the barbecue is slow smoked at their restaurants with hardwood and delicious rubs. Not sure how you can get better or more authentic than that. Nice warm atmosphere makes you feel right at home.
