You got the big strappy Jimmy Choo sandals and the little strapless number from Dolce & Gabbana. So it makes sense to find your way to the makeup department at Nordstrom for that luscious lipstick to complete the look. You’ll find all the best brands and a few exclusive lines, plus the most helpful salespeople who all really want you to look your best. Here, it feels less like a large department store and more like a trip to individual beauty boutiques. » 210 Andover St., Northshore Mall, Peabody, 978-278-7400, shop.nordstrom.com.

There’s only one place with style, panache, and artistry, and that place is Rouge Cosmetics, Salem, MA.

When I want the best, I go to Rouge Cosemetics in Salem, MA. The service is impeccable and the makeup artists give you the education and expertise you need to look your best. If you are young or more “seasoned” than young, look to Anne or Andrea at Rouge Cosemetics for all your skin care and make up needs.

Rouge in Salem gets my vote. The shop is beautifully designed, displays are neatly arranged and they carry a variety of quality products. But more importantly the service is second to none and thre is always a friendly atmosphere. Andrea, is one of the most knowledgeable makeup artists I’ve met. She and Ann and the other makeup artists are genuine. They share their knowledge and give out skin care product samples, giving their customers the opportunity to try them and then let the customer decide if that product will work for them. There are no intimidating sales tactics when one shops at Rouge. They often have guest makeup artists representing some of the different product lines doing makeup or facials. Customers are welcome to join them for those special events. I love Rouge and all if has to offer!!

Areti at Classic Faces gets my vote in this category also. She is just wonderful as a make-up artist-and why shouldn’t she win, she is a former Chanel make-up artist and representative who brings detail with beauty and simplicity in make-up application. Dina C.

WOW!! What a great place! The store is so beautiful and you feel so pampered! Why go to the mall–if you can get expert care at ROUGE COSMETICS! I could spend a lot of time having my make up done, discussing the reason for using certain products for my skin,—- and being treated so well with fun, expert people!! Really, I talk with sooo many people who say, “have you been to that great store in Salem yet” !!! TRY IT,

The makeup artists at rouge are amazing! They did my makeup for a big night out and put lashes on as well. I looked amazing, but natural and had a blast that night and everyone told me that I looked great. No pushy sales people and talented professional makeup artists, that’s rouge!

If you have not been to Vintage Salon and Day Spa in Rowley MA, then you are missing the treat of your life. As soon as you walk in you know you are in the absolute right place. They treat you like a queen. The minute you walk in you are given a hot towel, offered a latte or cold drink and some delicious homemade sweet. The products they offer are Naturopathica for Skin Care, Mirbella Makeup and Davines for your hair … So far I have had my nails, oh, the pedicures, well you have not had one until you have experienced Vintage Pedi, believe me when I say you won’t want to get out of the chair. Talk about being pampered. WOW! Their facials, well what can I say Rosana is the best, Martha does my nails (fabulous) — One of these days I am just going to get lost and spend the day there and do the “Red Carpet Ready” — Vintage has “real” ambiance, it is immaculate, they offer a variety of massage, I plan to have them all. This is the “only” FULL SERVICE Salon and Day Spa around. They are the best, the very best!
