Need something filleted, pounded, or prepared? North Andover’s Butcher Boy is the cream of the crop for meat stores across the North Shore. Don’t be afraid to ask questions; the staff is friendly and helpful. Once you’ve had a taste of their slab bacon and teriyaki steak tips, you’ll realize that Butcher Boy is a special place that goes above and beyond other meat stores.

Fowles Market in Newburyport. Stacked Boar’s Head Deli, fabulous steaks and tons of sausages – we tried one of their new quiches for Easter and those were great too. The owner always greets me personally and knows his stuff!

Fowles Market in Newburyport. Love them!!!!

Without compare, Fowles in Newburyport. Far better quality meat than any of the others (including Butcher Boy) that offer conventional only meats. Plus, they’ve added some great gourmet items, including truffle butters, fresh alba mushrooms from the d’artagnan line, etc.
And, you will not meet a nicer couple than Andy and Bonnie, who run a friendly shop with everything I used to have to travel into the city for!

I would make it a tie between Butcher Boy in N. Andover and Fowles in NBPT. Both great places.

My vote is for Fowles in Newburyport. It’s convenient, has friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of goods. Just what you want in a specialty store AND they also offer a huge selection of gourmet, complimentary items too. You can’t beat Fowles!

Buccarellis in Salisbury/Newburyport is a new family owned place. So many custom meat choices and cuts. Every single thing we’ve purchased from there from Filet Mignon to Porterhouse cuts has been out of this world! The service is terrific, you feel like family and they also have a great deli to match!

Fowles in Newburyport- definately the best around!!

Butcher Boy in North Andover – hands down! I compare every butcher and restaurant steak I’ve ever tried to Butcher Boy’s. No one has ever beat them. Thick, moist. You can tell the difference. Love their Cowboy Steaks in particular.

Fowles Market, Newburyport. All three of my kids love their sausages and they are tough customers. Their steak tips and lemon pepper chicken are favorites, too!

Absolutely Fowles Market in Newburyport! The owners are great and it is a one stop shop on your way to the beach…..sandwiches or steak tips, sides, chips and beer and wine…..they even have ice!

Beverly Butcher Shop- Down on your way to ryleside. Not a huge selection, but a quality selection of great cuts. It’s got a small town, small butcher feel, not a super market- inpersonal, packaged marinated meats that stay on the shelves way too long (boys in Danvers take note)…
April 9, 2010 at 9:23 am
Fowles is the best butcher shop, they always have everything you want or will order it for you. Staff is always pleasant and they know their cuts. Great for a quick sandwitch also.

I’ll have to try this Fowles on my next NBPT trip.
My vote is New England Meat Market in Peabody.

DiLugis in Danvers. Never had a bad piece of meat. The best part is I can ask questions about the meat and how to prepare it.
In addition, they sometimes have great fish.

I’d like to nominate DiLuigi’s in Danvers. They are by FAR the best Meat Market on the North Shore. They meat is not only the best around but their service is impeccable. You can always count on them for honest advice in a very friendly atmosphere. They are always a pleasure to work with.
