Fowles in Newburyport is the BEST meat market on the north shore! I used to love Butcher Boy, until Fowles re-opened under new management, and blew all the competition away…The Niman Ranch strip steaks are unbelievable -

Tendercrop Farms in Newbury doesn’t have as extensive a meat selection as some places, but the quality is superb, and they have great baked goods and the largest variety and freshest of produce available. I will have to try Fowle’s, though.

Fowles is a whole bucnh of smoke and mirrors. They get their meat from the same places as all the others, with the exception of one brand. Agar, Sysco, ect. Butcherboy has the same for cheaper. Fowles “dry-aged” beef is a joke. Just look at it. Its old beef that sat around in the cooler too long. Dry-aged beef doesn’t have a brown ring around it. I get far better service at Butcherboy. Also Karls Sausage Kitchen. The Best!!!

Fowle’s Market hands down the best butcher not only is essex county but possible all of New England. The kitchen sink is the best!!!
