I'LL TELL YOU WHY THEIR BEER TASTE FUNNY SOMETIMES, BECAUSE THEY TREAT THEIR BEER LIKE THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS. IMPROPERLY. THEY DON'T FOLLOW BASIC INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND THEY THINK BECAUSE IT IS UNFILTERED THAT THE YEAST WILL MAGICALLY DEOXIDIZE THE BEER. THEY DON'T CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT PROPERLY AND THEY RUN SODA THROUGH THE SAME LINE THEY PUT THE BEER THROUGH. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY A REAL BEER FROM A REAL BREWERY THAT TAKES CARE OF THE BASICS. LIKE CUSTOMERS AND THE SHELF LIFE OF BOTTLED BEER. BUY FAT TIRE OR ANOTHER CRAFT BEER THAT IS BREWED AND BOTTLED PROPERLY.

I love Ipswich Ale, but don't understand why a small brewery like Mercury Brewing is harder to contact than a large major one. I wrote a letter, and left a phone message with a question about their ale, and received no reply. I would have sent an email too, but no email option is given on their web site. Fine way to treat customers, and yes, the people who BUY your product (not just the distributors or liquor stores)are your customers!

My question: every so often I get ale that has a strong, unpleasant, metallic taste to it. Why?

There, was that so hard? Is this such a bad question that it must be ignored? I'll continue buying Ipswich Ale, despite the lack of importance that I, as a consumer, apparently have in the brewer's eyes.
