    Hands down, Periwinkles Food Shoppe in Salem…..They’re the best! Specials every day, and what a selection. The size is so big, I dare you to eat the whole thing! I’ve been going there for lunch for years.

    If I eat a sanwich out it’s always periwinkles. Fresh, and/or homemade ingredients, made while you wait, the best bread, and large enough for leftovers. Great service too.

    The Willow Rest has some of the most unique and delicious

    Essen is a great new place in Manchester! It blends a touch of the city with the flavor of the beach. It offers great fresh food, including a variety of gourmet sandwiches and home-made soups. The beverages are top-of-the-line and the desserts are mouth-watering. It’s a cozy place where you can really feel comfortable while you enjoy the great food. A big plus for me!!

    Great slection of freshly made sandwiches. I love the zucchini and goat cheese as well as the mozarella and tomato. Friendly service and pleasant atmoshere.

    Cafe Kushco in Salem! This place has been a favorite of mine since they opened. Goat cheese, falafel, spinach salads, avocado wraps, everything I would ever want in a sandwich I find at Kuscho. The sandwiches are large, but the wraps are huge! Their wraps are definitely two meal wraps. Delicious! I’m getting hungry just thinking about their food.

    Essen in Manchester-by-the-Sea is YUMMY!! Great coffee and local pastries. Weekly specials and excellent chicken salad!! The staff are wonderful! They even heat up your cup when you bring your own for coffee!

    As so many others, I would hands down have to go with Periwinkles Food Shoppe, in Vinnin Square, Salem. The sandwiches are to die for! Their bread is better than any I’ve ever tasted. The ingredients are all homemade & fresh everyday, and the sandwiches are made in front of you right well you wait, so you know they’re the real deal. Not to mention, the serving sizes are so large you almost always have leftovers to save for later! Definetely worth your while to get a sandwich at Periwikles. :)

    It’s no secret that people of the north shore love their roast beef sandwiches. If you are new to the North Shore, a roast beef is defined as the following: Warm roast beef on an onion roll with sauce, cheese, and mayo (otherwise known as a “Super Beef Three-Way” by seasoned vets). So lets get into it. Best beef north of Boston is by far Billys Roast Beef in Wakefield. Order a Super Beef plate; besides a thinly sliced peice of heaven on an onion roll, there are enough fries and onion rings to kill a man. I know some don’t consider Wakefield the north shore (which I guess is true becasuse there technically is no shore) so here you go; Nicks Roast Beef in Beverly is incredible. Nicks is one of the best beefs I have ever had. I give Billys the edge but Nicks is a close second. Great beef, great O rings, and they throw a salad in the Beef Plate which makes me feel better about myself. And if you need a late night spot on the way home from Boston stop off at Mikes in Everett, its right off 93 North. Mikes is open all night and makes a mean Super Beef. So there you have it. Kellys is out. Billys is in, Nicks and Mikes. Get into it!

    Without a doubt the best place around for sandwiches is Sub-Marino’s in Beverly!! Everything is so fresh and absolutely delicious!!! I have never been disappointed!

    Submarinos Beverly- Best bread and quality deli meat…all you need and something most North Shore sandwich shops can’t figure out. These guys have. Best sandwich there is the chicken salad. It’s made to order, so be patient, but its worth the wait.

    Just tried LaRosas here in town for the first time and I can’t believe I have missed out their first 5 months of being open. Everything is made fresh daily..Had the portabello sandwhich, to die for and took home a chicken marsala and a cupcake..wierd I know an italian place serving cupcakes but I must say best cupcake I ever had and my dad was a baker for 20 years!!

    absolutely HAS to be Fernando’s on Munroe St in Downtown Lynn. great little hole in the wall place with a FANTASTIC cuban sandwich among other things. Great, friendly service. Sometimes i wake up in the morning and all i have on my mind is making it through my morning so that i can get a cubano as soon as the pork comes out of the oven around 11:00!!

    Wichit in Lawrence has the best sandwiches anywhere! Everything is all natural, fresh, and is very unique. I haven’t seen a place like this north of Boston and maybe even Boston! I love the stonemill! They roast their own NY Strip sirloin and shave it fresh! They were recently on Phantom Gourmet.

    Wichit! in Lawrence is my favorite!!! The STONEMILL is to die for!! I keep saying that I will order something different and I get there and I cannot do it, I get the STONEMILL. Mouth watering NY strip, portabella mushrooms, carmelized onions, swiss cheese and whatever else they put on there, OMG, deeelish… I want one right now. I usually get 1/2 with either soup or fries. YUM! The place is so funky and the people (Rose and Chris) and so nice. I have turned on so many people to Wichit! GREAT Place!!

    WICHIT in Lawrence. I am not generally a sandwich person, but WICHIT is more than a sandwich shop it is a sandwich Experience and I am a believer.     If you love a great sandwich then you’ve got to try Wichit in Lawrence, MA. The ‘Stonemill’ is my favorite it has strip sirloin, melted alpine lace Swiss, sautèed portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli, pressed hot between sliced ciabatta. I’m hungry just thinking about it.

    It has to be WICHIT. Unlike any other sandwich place, wichit uses fresh ORGANIC ingredients! ORGANIC=does the body good :) WITCHIT has the most great tasting sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life! GO WICHIT.

    WRAPINI’S (Peabody) I am always amazed at how good the food is there! They have a fun menu with amazing sandwiches! I love the Wild West Panini, Ruben Panini, Simply Yummy Panini, Buffalo Chicken Panini…ok I (not kidding) could go on for awhile. I always try to try something different on the menu and I’m never disappointed. The staff is really friendly,and know what they are doing. The owner pays a ton of attention to detail and makes sure the food is cooked to perfection! …oh, and thanks a lot! It’s 12:15am and now I want a Wrapini’s panini!! :( …oh well, I guess I’ll go tomorrow!

    Wrapini’s in Peabody BY FAR has THE BEST menu and sandwich/wraps around! You WON’T be disappointed! There is sonething for everyone, no matter your mood, and a VERY friendly atmosphere!     WICHIT for sure. Living in Beijing I crave for WICHIT almost everyday. Everytime I come back to the Boston I have to make a stop into Lawrence. Three main reasons why I fly back so often; family, friends and WICHIT. By far the best freakin Sandwiches around the Globe!!!! Need to open a WICHIT in China!!

    Without a doubt….WICHIT. Definitely NOT mass produced or a cloned conveyor belt sandwich place. There’s lots of love, care and articulation performed with each of their sandwiches. End results are superb combinations of ingredients for maximum and optimal tummy satisfaction. I’m going to say that the best bang for your buck, North or South shore, is the Stonemill. Yup that’s right….NY strip sirloin.

    WICHIT! yuhm…yuhm…yuhm…I can’t wait to go there someday and have a very delish sandwitch. I’ve heard very good and delicious stories about WICHIT sandwitches, makes me hungry. You should consider having another restaurant in Dedham by the square, so we won’t have a hard time deciding where to go for lunch all the time anymore. It would be a really great one.

    I can only wish they had more locations my way. Who on earth knew about driving through Lawrence and finding this Gem in this Industrial/Office building. The place was like walking into a Palace surrounded by Old West. What blew my away was the Sandwiches, I never had anything melt in my mouth like that for lunch and didn’t have to pay $20 for. And Shy..? They definitely are not shy on the portions. Puzzled how they make a profit! All I know is this has been the only place I was forced to rave about to my family when I got home in the south shore. Please tell them they need to open one up in the South Shore!!!

    Sub-Marino’s in Beverly–The bread is really delicious, desserts are home-made by them, the chef tries new things.     Without a doubt, WICHIT is the best place to get a real sandwich. By real I mean fresh, tastes good, and fills you up. Not like some establishments that are only in the business to just make a quick buck. Wichit CARES. Okay, well what exactly does that mean? It means that they only carry hormone-free meats and organic vegetables. They believe in giving customers value, quality, foods that won’t give you a heart attack at 30. They’re use of herbs is phenomenal. And the bread is AMAZING. My favorite is the popular “Stonemill”sandwich. The New York strip sirloin is made fresh everyday in the house. The melted alpine lace Swiss cheese with the sautèed portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic aioli satisfies everyone’s hunger. The sandwich is also pressed hot.     You can really tell this place is run by real people, not a chain. They really care about what they’re making for you. The place is clean, they use organic ingredients, and from breakfast to soups to desserts, it’s all handmade. I just tried the Stonemill (“In house roasted NY strip sirloin, melted alpine lace Swiss, sauteed portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic aioli, pressed hot between sliced ciabatta”), and these guys oughta get an award for this one alone. As I ate it while driving home, all I was thinking was, ‘Oh my goodness, I wish I got two .’ Absolutely the best.

    The most unbelievable place to get probably the most unbelievable sandwich you’ll ever have in your life is definately WICHIT. Organic ingredients, delicious desserts, and the best tasting soup. But we can’t forget the sides either, Tuscan pasta salad, Red bliss potato salad, Yukon Gold fries (25% less fat than regular fries) and my all time favorite the sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries would not be complete without the best sauce ever that they make right in wichit which is the chipotle. It’s so addicting i have to have it everytime! Wichit is absolutely the place to be whether it be for a meeting, a date, or just because you couldnt last another day without their amazing sandwiches. GO WICHIT!

    Gallo Nero’s, Peabody Square, has the absolutely best calzones ever. I only get the chicken parm and it is heavenly—fresh sauteed chicken cutlet, perfect tomato sauce, tons of mozzerella BUT what makes it so good is the creamy ricotta included.     LaRosa’s in Andover. The staff is always friendly, attentive and the food is tasty and fresh. Try the eggplant parm – not only delicious but a great value.

    If I had to eat only one thing for the rest of my life it would be Sol Bean’s CHICKEN SALAD…CHICKEN SALAD…CHICKEN SALAD Wrap! My Mom loves the Annie’s Avo…..neither can be beat!Can you say YUM!!!!!

    Love Sol Bean in MIddleton!! Great coffee, lattes, chai tea, etc. Lots of very healthy salads, wraps and smoothies. They are also very involved in the community and are eco-friendly and health conscious. very friendly staff and a comfy setting with table, sofas and outdoor seating in the good weather. Great spot for lunch.

    Wrapini’s on Bourbon Street, West Peabody, has the MOST creative wraps, and dinners. And my Autistic son LOVES their eggplant and sweet Potato fries!!

    I am the takeout Queen of the North Shore. I can’t cook so I find the people who can to feed me and my famiy. The BEST in the area is Wrapini’s in Peabody.I used to live in Swampscott and I have been to Perriwinkles. Wrapini’s is better. Much more on the menu and the personal service is unique. I’m sending all my friends there. Try it, you’ll love it!
