When thinking sushi, Peabody is probably not the first place that comes to mind. But for sushi aficionados in the know, the freshness and variety of Fuji Sushi make all the sense in the world. With over 50 types of maki and a wide assortment of sushi and sashimi, there’s more than enough to choose from. Be sure to check out the volcano maki, the lobster maki, and the Red Sox maki. » 136 Newbury St., Peabody, 978-535-1182, myfujisushi.com.

Haven’t been to a ton of sushi places but I love Bangkok Paradise in Salem. Great prices, great sushi. Better than all the “great” sushi places in Salem.

Our family loves Karma in Westford, MA. We have tried sushi all over the world but no place has more creativity with rolls and fresher fish than Karma. Definitely the best of northshore!

Mootone in Andover is best.
Always perfect, fresh, beautifully prepared sushi and sashimi. Their Spider Maki (softshell crab) is the best I have tasted anywhere – even in noted sushi towns like San Francisco and Seattle.
Nice variety too – Teppanyaki tables, regular table service in addition to sushi bar.
Don’t miss: Beef Tataki appetizer, Miso soup, Katsu dishes.
