Wining, Dining and Dancing to Benefit Victims of Domestic Violence

The Party: Jeans & Jewels Fundraiser with Celeb Auctioneer and MC Billy Costa on Saturday, March 13

A dance party with celebrity guest auctioneer KISS 108 and NECN TV Diner’s Billy Costa is being held to benefit families impacted by domestic violence on Saturday, March 13. The Party: Jeans & Jewels fundraiser will feature a live and silent auction, dancing, cocktails and food stations at DiBurro’s in Ward Hill, Haverhill between 6 p.m. and midnight. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center offices in Newburyport and Amesbury.

Local residents Louis Rubenfeld and his wife Cyndi Barry Rubenfeld are co-chairs of the fundraiser and Arthur S. Page Insurance in Newburyport is the presenting sponsor.
“This is such a fun fundraiser. It’s casual but people can dress up their jeans with jewels or fancy tops. The idea is just to kick back and enjoy the evening for a good cause,” says Suzanne Dubus, executive director of the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center.

This year, one of the live auction items is an opportunity to join Billy Costa and TV Diner crew for a taping of Cookin’ with Costa segment and other live auction items include trips to Africa, a private yacht cruise for up to 49 guests in and around Boston, a weeklong getaway to a home in St. Barts, and Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins tickets – right on the glass, as well as a chance to hit the skies either as a jet fighter pilot for the day, take a sunset flight over Newburyport and Plum Island or enjoy a glider flight at 3ooo feet. Silent auction items include New England weekend getaways, a fishing excursion, children’s party events, jewelry, spas and gift certificates to many local restaurants and retailers. There will be a cash bar and DJ Scott Langlois will provide entertainment, along with harpist Beverly Peeke.

Reservations are $60 per person. For more information or to make reservations, visit www.jeannegeigercrisiscenter.org or call 978-465-0999.

For more than 25 years, the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center has been helping individuals and families who are at risk because of domestic violence. What began as the compassionate mission of several volunteer parishioners of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newburyport in 1982, has grown into a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization serving families from Amesbury, Merrimac, Georgetown, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, West Newbury and Groveland. The mission of the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center is to empower community members to live free from fear, intimidation, violence or the threat of abuse by providing support, advocacy and education. Its goal is to end domestic violence and create communities that are safe for all its members. For more information, visit www.jeannegeigercrisiscenter.org or call 978.465.0999.
