This BBC visionary is an operatic and symphonic composer who has collaborated with many artists from Paul Simon to Yo Yo Ma. He is the first composer to win a wide, multi-generational audience in the opera house, the concert hall, the dance world, in film and in popular music – simultaneously. Through his 20 operas, eight symphonies, concertos for multiple instruments, numerous film soundtracks, compositions for his own ensemble, and wide-ranging collaborations, Philip Glass has had an extraordinary and unprecedented impact upon the musical and intellectual life of his times. You can also hear Philip’s work in the hit film The Watchmen during Dr. Manhattan’s scene.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the John Finnegan Memorial Scholarship Fund. Finnegan was a Professor of Music at Salem State College from 1966 until 1988.
