The Corrine Johnson Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit organization that provides scholorships to local college-bound students who have suffered the loss of a parent, guardian or sibling.

Jimmy Johnson, a senior at Andover High School, lost his mother, Corinne Johnson last year.  The scholarship fund was formed by a friend of Corinne’s, Julie Gadziala, because she was so touched by not only Jimmy’s suffering, but several other kids who she spoke to who shared how hard it as for them.  When she began her research it was apparent that short of the American Cancer Society (if your parent died) and the Military (if your parent died) there were no scholarships that addressed children who had lost a family member.

A 18 karat white gold 1.5 Karat Diamond cluster ring with be raffled off.

Last year the scholarship fund gave out nine scholarships.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

6:00 PM Hors D’oeuvres and Cash Bar
7:00 PM Dinner Buffet and Live Auction featuring Coach Fazio & Coach “Pug”
9:30 PM Fashion show and Dancing featuring DJ – Ted Teichert

There are only 2,000 tickets being sold, and as of this week, and only 500 of them have been purchased.

This Raffle Trip Prize includes four round-trip airfare tickets from the continental US to the Virgin Islands, 7 days & nights lodging at the Maho Bay Resort (www.maho.org) and $1,000 cash for food and taxis… all for only $20 a ticket!

This year the event will feature food from ten of the North Shore’s finest restaurants and caterers. The raffle baskets and silent auction items are even more extravagant and individually raffled baskets means the chances of getting the basket you want are higher.

The Annual Taste of Success is always an exquisite and eclectic evening of networking, socializing and food tasting with some of the North Shore’s finest business men and women.

Ticket are: $55 if purchased early before May 7th, or $65 up until the event.

Salem\’s Mayor, Kimberly Driscoll will be in attendance for the Ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, March 6th, 2009 at 11:30am.

The event will also include raffles for several big prizes including: a Sansui LCD TV, a Bosch dishwasher, a GE front-loading washer, a Marvel built-in wine unit display, a Wolf BBQ Grill, and more!

The raffle funds ($1 admission for the raffle March 2nd through the 8th) will be matched by Tri-City Sales to benefit St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Salem.
