Anthony Laconte knows a thing or two about snow storms. As a plow driver for the town of Georgetown and owner of construction firm J. Derenzo and Co., he hasn’t missed a storm since 1982. Ice Out

Ice out has been declared.

On my front yard.

It’s a right of spring on Lake Winnepesaukee when the cruise ship Mount Washington can reach all of its ports on the lake. This year, I can say the same thing for my front yard. I can now walk from my driveway to my shed unimpeded by snow and ice.

I suppose this means I should check in on the lawnmower that’s been sitting under piles of snow all winter long. Something tells me it’s not going to start. Maybe I’ll wait on that one for a few more weeks. I hear there’s a storm coming this weekend.
