Master Bath Built by Howell Custom Building Group Named a Top 50 American Bathroom by Trends Magazine
A master bathroom designed by Laine M. Jones Design, of West Newbury Massachusetts, and handcrafted by Howell Custom Building Group of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and was recently named a Top 50 American Bathroom by Trends Magazine.
Trends is a dedicated print and online resource for aspirational design ideas, products, services and information – bringing its audience of homeowners and design professionals the best in bathroom design from the United States and the world. The Trends Top 50 American Bathrooms were selected by a Trends panel on the basis of excellence in design, function, product specification and style.
The master ensuite bathroom honored by Trends is part of a rustic custom-built lakeside mountain lodge, reminiscent of the Adirondack vacation homes found in upstate New York. The bathroom features an earthy color palette and exquisite cabinetry and joinery handcrafted by Howell Custom Building Group out of Douglas fir, a locally sourced wood that is used throughout the home’s interior.
It is an L-shaped room, with the spa bath at one end and a large, walk-in shower room at the other. “The tub was placed so bathers can enjoy the scenery from the spa,” says Laine Jones, the designer. Double-action blinds provide a degree of privacy.
An extensive use of mirrors and clear glass on the shower door help increase the sense of size in the bathroom, while the toilet is accommodated in a separate attached room, with a small window that invites in natural light.
The 7200 sq. foot vacation home, which has won multiple awards for its design and craftsmanship was built in Maine for a family living on the north shore of Massachusetts.
Howell Custom Building Group is the north shore’s premier home builder, serving communities north of Boston on projects large and small.
