Smolak Farms welcomes back friends and family for their 33rd fall season with a plethora of classic offerings. Starting Saturday, August 31st, Smolak Farms will be offering Pick Your Own apples and peaches, farm-made pies made with seasonal Smolak fruit and Fall Festivals every weekend featuring hayrides, games, and the farm’s famously irresistible cider donuts. Smolak Farms looks forward to welcoming back regulars and new visitors, and introducing them to the regional nostalgia and traditions that date back 300 years.
Pick Your Own Apples
Pick Your Own apples launches on Saturday, August 31st and will be available seven days a week (weather permitting), allowing farm guests to explore Smolak Farms’ array of orchards. Apples are available by the ½ peck (10-12 pounds) or ½ bushel (20-24 pounds) and cost $25 and $35, respectively. Apple varieties featured at Smolak Farms include Macintosh, Empire, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Cortland/Red Cortland, Macoun, Paula Red, Northern Spy, Gravenstein, Granny Smith, Red Max, Rogers Red Mac and Macspur and many more. Opening in October, the Antique Apple Orchard which includes 20 different varieties of apples that are no longer grown for commercial harvest.
The Pumpkin Patch
Starting on Sunday, September 15th, children and adults will have the opportunity to scour the pumpkin fields for their perfect seasonal pick. While Smolak has plenty of perfect orange jack-o-lantern pumpkins, they also offer a wide variety of others: Racer, New Rocket, Howden Biggie, Speckled Swan, Caveman’s Club, Shenot Crown of Thorns, Honey Bear and more – all perfect for a fall tablescape, home decorations, or a warm autumn supper. Pumpkins will be sold by the pound all the way until The Great Pumpkin arrives on October 31st.
Fall Festivals
Kicking off on August 31st, Smolak Farms is thrilled to welcome back their annual Fall Festivals that will continue every weekend throughout the fall. Each weekend, the farm erupts with a variety of activities for the whole family. Attendees can enjoy face painting, hayrides, complimentary games and crafts in the barn, a bouncy house, and so much more. Smolak’s famous Cider Donut Holes are NEW this year and continue to keep donut lovers coming back each weekend. By the end of the season, Smolak Farms guestimates that they will have made nearly 150,000 cider donuts and donut holes – just enough to satisfy their loyal, hungry following.
