The Marblehead Festival of Arts Presents the Winter Film Festival
Marblehead, MA (January 21, 2010) The Marblehead Festival of Arts invites the public to warm up at its Winter Film Festival in Marblehead Little Theatre, 12 School Street, on Wednesday, February 17, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. The screening is free of charge, and the doors will open at 7:00 pm.
The Festival will screen 12 short films, the best of the many films submitted last year to the Festival of Arts. The great majority of the films are by artists who are current or former residents of Essex County (including Marblehead), the Boston area, and New York. The films display a wide range of styles; genres include animation, personal documentary, comedy, drama, and satire; and the subjects range from the world’s strangest disease to North Shore noir to the Revere Beach of yore. Some of the filmmakers are expected to be present and they will talk about their work and answer questions at the end of the program.
Audience members will receive ballots to vote for their favorite film, and the People’s Choice Award will go to the winner. Fresh popcorn and other refreshments will also be available. For further information, visit www.MarbleheadFestival.org.
