Saturday, February 12th, at 7:30 pm, four female vocalists, members of the Honky Tonk Women of Gloucester and the Songbirds, will unite to perform a capella and acoustic songs of the ’60s and chartbusting doo wop songs for a St. Valentine’s Day “remember when.” The fireside show will be held in the sitting room of the historic Inn Magnolia at 18 Norman Avenue in Magnolia Village (Gloucester). It will be a coffeehouse atmosphere with desserts and hot beverages, and a raffle to win an overnight stay for two at the Inn Magnolia. Doors will open at 7:00 for seating and the show starts at 7:30 p.m..
The four Honky Tonk Women of Gloucester include fingerstyle guitarist & vocalist Sheila Jones Schrank, Barbara Jansson on harmonica and vocals, Caroline Haines from “Leven,” and Elaine Persons, the Patsy Cline voice of the group. They will bring back the classic songs of the ’60s era, especially those of the “girl groups,” and gold record hits from the Crystals, the Supremes, the Ronettes, the Angels, the Cookies, Brenda Lee, Bobby Darin, Connie Francis, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, the Beatles, the McGuire Sisters, and more. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Casual dress. A $10 donation will be requested at the door.
