Kings, the classic restaurant and entertainment venue that serves up food and fun with a side of nostalgia, launched a cheeseburger into space for the second year in a row the other day as part of its early celebration of National Cheeseburger Day, and now plans to give away free cheeseburgers this Thursday, September 18, on the actual National Cheeseburger Day.
Kings is credited with having sent the first cheeseburger into Earth’s outer orbit last year, but this year was the first time they were able to obtain footage of the entire journey up to 90,000 feet. View the full video here.
“Let them eat cheeseburgers,” says Kings’ owner Patrick Lyons. Kings flat-top grilled burgers made with a proprietary mix of ground brisket, sirloin and chuck are ‘Out of this World’. The famous cheeseburger that went up into space will be bronzed and put on display at a Kings’ location for all to see and snap pictures with in the coming days. Kings currently has five locations, Boston, Dedham, Lynnfield, Chicago and Orlando, with additional locations expected to open in Raleigh, North Carolina and Burlington, Massachusetts.
Free cheeseburgers will be served September 18th, 5-8pm. View the full video of the space cheeseburger here.
