Fresh off his TV debut and the release of his highly anticipated sophomore EP Hard To Read, Oakland-based and Berklee College alumni Day Wave – aka Jackson Phillips – is bringing his dreamy and hypnotic California melodies on the road for his first U.S. headlining tour! He’ll be playing Great Scott in Allston on 6/7, ahead of his festival performances at Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, Shaky Knees, and more.
Day Wave’s latest EP Hard to Read is out now via Grand Jury/Fat Possum and his absolutely mesmerizing latest single “Stuck” premiered via Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1. Now – after having made his SXSW debut where Entertainment Weekly, Paste, Noisey, and more named Day Wave one of the “best things” they saw at the festival – Phillips is bringing his smooth vocal harmonies and beachy synth rock sounds across the US, so audiences, at least for a night, can be washed over by a dreamy pop aesthetic that only the West Coast can provide. With lots of love from the folks at Sirius XMU/Alt Nation, Beats 1, BBC, The Fader, Noisey, Stereogum, Buzzfeed, LA Times and more, Day Wave is definitely one to watch in 2016.
