A & B Burgers

If you are looking for the best burger on the Eastern seaboard, call ahead to make sure this Beverly burger joint has its Wagyu beef in stock—it is so good that it sells out quickly. Their regular grass-fed, hand-formed burgers are incredibly delicious, too, but the Wagyu beef (which costs a few extra bucks) is out of this world—juicy, tender, flavorful—it doesn’t even need a dash of salt or the A&B special sauce. The décor—a funky mix of garage-style doors that open to the sidewalk in warm weather, a cement-top bar, and industrial light fixtures—makes this a cool neighborhood hangout where kids of all ages are welcome.

Elm Square Oyster Co.
Chef-owner Matthew Morello and chef Michael Sherman have mastered the gourmet burger cooked to your liking. Although it comes with sophisticated toppings of watercress, charred onion, grain mustard aioli, and farmhouse cheddar, it is the beef that makes the burger—an all-natural, organic grass-fed chuck from Painted Hills Farm in Oregon. The beef is ground daily in house. Morello has been using this source for five years exclusively. In fact, all his beef comes from Painted Hills. This luscious burger has become a Northshore magazine favorite among the editorial and art departments.
