From skiing and snow shoeing to snow sculpting, biking, and maple sugaring, Woodstock, Vermont, has it all. Located on the banks of the Ottauquechee River, this New England village is only a three-hour drive from Boston and a five-hour drive from New York City.
Whether you’re an outdoorsman, an art aficionado, a shopper, or a foodie, Woodstock has something for everyone to enjoy; the town has the only national park in Vermont and has a number of cozy restaurants and charming boutiques. If you’re looking for the perfect winter getaway with loved ones, this is the place for you!
Here’s a look at what’s happening in Woodstock this season:
Suicide Six Ski Area, all winter season long!
Get out on the slopes at the iconic Suicide Six Ski Area, close to Woodstock and established on the opposite side of the hill from the site of the very first ski tow in the U.S. A new quad lift shortens the ride to the top of the mountain, from which skiers and snowboarders can choose the beginner trail “Easy Mile” or test their skills on the more difficult “Face.” The modern base lodge with its full restaurant provides a warm, family-friendly atmosphere to snuggle up after a day on the slopes. Ski and board rentals are available on site.
ArtisTree Daily Artists Exhibit, January 13-February 11, 2017
Come and enjoy a culminating exhibit of works by the ArtisTree Daily Artists, a group of local artists who have made a year-long commitment to making art each day for the entire year. Come see the inspiration and growth over a yearlong journey of making art daily!
