The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art’s (ICAA) 2017 Bulfinch Awards was held at the prestigious Harvard Club of Boston on April 29. With more than 200 guests in attendance for the fun and lively cocktail hour, dinner, and gala. The room was filled with prominent architects, interior designers, and industry trades people—the top movers and shakers in the field of traditional design. Interior designer Liz Caan looked stunning in spring stripes while award-winner Leslie-jon Vickory had a beautiful ball skirt she has designed for the event. Topsfield architect Ben Nutter and Ipswich architect Mat Cummings were also among the notable guests that evening.
President of the New England Chapter David Andreozzi and vice president Sally Wilson were masters of ceremony presenting the awards during the dinner hour. Chapter founder Sheldon Kostelecky won the Patronage Award for his service to the organization. During his tenure, he developed and launched a curriculum at the Boston Architectural College in Classical Architecture Studies. He attended the event with architect Laura Howard of the ICAA’s Southeast Chapter, which is based in Atlanta.
Northshore Home magazine was among the media sponsors that evening and editor Nancy Berry, who is the Chapter’s Secretary, was also in attendance. The ICAA is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the classical tradition in architecture, urbanism, and their allied arts through education, publication, and advocacy. The Institute is headquartered in New York City with regional chapters across the United States. It offers a wide array of programs that are designed to promote the appreciation and practice of classical and traditional design, including classes, travel, lectures, and conferences.
