Lahey Health recently announced that Howard Grant, JD, MD, will serve the dual role of CEO of Lahey Health and CEO of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. This follows the departure of the current Hospital CEO Joanne Conroy, MD, who has accepted the position of president and CEOof Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Dr. Grant previously served in this dual role from May 2012 to July 2014.
Dr. Conroy became CEO of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in July 2014 and also served on the management team for the Lahey Health system. Under her leadership, the Hospital completed a two-year installation of the Epic Health Record System to improve coordination of care and enhance patient experience and received national recognition for quality.

In 2012, Dr. Grant joined Lahey as president and CEO of the Burlington hospital previously known as Lahey Clinic. He led the hospital through an affiliation with Northeast Health System in 2012 and an affiliation with Winchester Hospital in 2014 to create Lahey Health. As CEO of Lahey Health, Dr. Grant has created an integrated health care system that provides the full continuum of services locally, keeping high quality care in the community. Dr. Grant has played a vital role in influencing patient safety and superior clinical care for three decades at some of the nation’s most preeminent health care institutions.
