Earlier this March, the Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA) once again partnered with Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry Campaign to help ensure that every child in the United States has access to healthy food no matter where they live, learn, and play. On March 12, nine restaurants, along with contributing chefs from across the state, participated in the Massachusetts Restaurant Day for No Kid Hungry which raised $143,880 to support the Massachusetts Cooking Matters program and the No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in America. The funds raised will help to connect kids with over 1.4 million healthy and nutritious meals.
Inspired by chef Andy Husbands and his team at Tremont 647, who have graciously hosted a dinner for this important cause for the past 21 years, this year’s Massachusetts Restaurant Day for No Kid Hungry featured a multi-course meal at nine restaurants with 100-percent of all ticket proceeds to benefit No Kid Hungry. Participating restaurants included: Tremont 647 (Boston), 110 Grill (Braintree), 110 Grill (Leominster), 111 Chop House (Worcester), Cobblestones of Lowell (Lowell), Bucatino Restaurant & Wine Bar (North Falmouth), East Bay Grille (Plymouth), Hotel Northampton (Northampton) and Turner’s Seafood (Salem).
