Boston Urban Hospitality partners, chef Chris Coombs and CEO Brian Piccini, are pleased to welcome Nick Daddona as the restaurant group’s new beverage director and sommelier. Daddona brings a lifelong passion for hospitality and years of experience as one of Boston’s top sommeliers to Boston Urban Hospitality’s award-winning collection of restaurants—Deuxave, dbar, and Boston Chops.
Born and raised in western Connecticut, Daddona is a proud New Englander who is passionate about the area’s burgeoning local food scene and contributing to it. After graduating from UMass Boston and spending time working within the hospitality business, Daddona recognized his passion for the industry and began his career as Sommelier and General Manager at Les Zygomates. He also helped launch the wine program at Cultivar, but he was most recognized for his time at the Boston Harbor Hotel. During his time as Beverage Director at Boston Harbor Hotel, Daddona received numerous awards and accolades while he worked closely alongside noted chef and Boston Wine Festival founder, Daniel Bruce.
The Boston Harbor Hotel’s wine program has received numerous awards under his guidance from Wine Spectator and Forbes. Daddona earned his Advanced Sommelier certificate through the Court of Masters Sommeliers Americas. Currently, he is actively seeking his Master Sommelier certification. He is also a contributor to Stephen Tanzer’s Winophilia website and was named Boston’s top sommelier by Improper Bostonian magazine. Always putting education first, Nick is Board Member Emeritus for the Boston Sommelier Society, a non-profit group whose sole purpose is furthering wine education throughout greater Boston.

Daddona, who believes service and stories are the central tenets of being a sommelier and wine is an experience to be enjoyed without pretension, looks forward to building upon these tents at Boston Urban Hospitality. With over a decade of beverage experience in New England, Daddona relishes the opportunity to explore new ways to express ideas and create memories with food and wine. He is passionate about discovering new and exciting wine and beverage options while helping to raise the bar of hospitality in Boston- a passion that will be well-matched with Deuxave’s high standards of excellence and exceptional service. Deuxave was just named one of the only Forbes Four Star restaurants in Boston and has received numerous awards from both national and local publications for their wine program.
Boston Urban Hospitality implements an already impressive beverage program offering exceptional wines at each of its locations and providing extensive staff training. Award-winning French concept, Deuxave, boasts an especially outstanding wine list of over 560 selections. Deuxave currently has 3,300 bottles stored in-house in temperature, light and moisture-controlled, state-of-the art cases as well as Euro Caves. Boston Urban Hospitality focuses on providing guests with rare, vintage selections alongside more widely recognizable varieties from the US, Italy, France, and beyond.
