On Saturday, August 4, 2018, Gloucester Country Fest opened to thunder and torrential rain, but as they say in show biz, “the show must go on”—and it did.
In a sea of rain, wind, and coastal fog the show opened up to just under two dozen attendees at Stage Fort Park.
Timmy Brown and Black Diamond opened up the show and played their own music plus some covers of modern and classic country rock songs. The band would open up for Keith Urban later in the day.
By the time the second act came on board, Annie Brobst, the clouds started to part, and glimmers of sunshine began to beam through the sky and onto the soaked grassy field in front of the stage.
More and more people started to show and eventually there were more fans then organizers before the day was through.
Although it was not a sea of cowboy and cowgirl hats, the event still happened, and the music played on.
