Tony & Elaine’s is bringing red sauce favorites with a side of cool when it opens in November in the former Amici Space on North Washington Street in Boston’s North End. It is the fourth restaurant by All Day Hospitality owner, Nick Frattaroli, who also owns Ward 8, Bodega Canal and North Square Oyster. The restaurant’s chef will be Eric Buonagurio who is currently Executive Chef overseeing North Square Oyster, Ward 8 and Bodega Canal.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and will be young and hip with a retro, tongue-and-cheek nod to Italian-American red sauce restaurants of the 1960’s and 70’s. The restaurant is named after Frattaroli’s parents, who were both servers in North End restaurants for decades dating back to the 1970’s.

According to owner Nick Frattaroli, “Tony & Elaine’s is our take on the classic Italian-American red sauce concept. We’ll pay homage to the old-school restaurants that gave this neighborhood its notoriety, but we’ll incorporate the vibe that we’ve become known for in our other restaurants.”

The restaurant will have traditional favorites such as spaghetti and meatballs, lobster ravioli, and chicken parmesan. All pasta will be made in-house daily. There will be a dedicated takeout area focusing on sandwiches like meatball, chicken parm heroes and Italian subs served on braided rolls to cater to the grab-and-go work crowd. Tony & Elaine’s will offer beer, wine and cordials.

There will be seating available for 50 guests on two floors with the top floor featuring red leather booths, red checkered tablecloths, wood paneling on the walls, kitschy artwork, and original floor tiles. The lower level will offer black and white checkered floors, the same red leather booths and exposed brick walls.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11:30a until 11:00p. Tony & Elaine’s is located at 111 North Washington Street. Follow the progress on Instagram at @tonyandelaines.
