Conveniently, sisters Maura and Chris McCarthy didn’t need to change the name of this decades-old neighborhood spot when they took over last year. Omelets as thin as crepes, with lightly cooked veggies inside, eight or nine types of bread, all baked in-house, and fish cakes are always on the menu, along with breakfast classics like French toast and eggs Benedict. The homey spot is decorated with meaning; the folded flag, the paintings, and the photographs all tell a story—ask about anything.
