Newburyport retailers and restaurants participate this year in the city’s annual Holiday Invitation Nights on the first three Fridays in December, staying open late and offering discounts and refreshments. The evenings, which run from 6 to 9 p.m., allow shoppers to stroll the streets of town, enjoy the holiday decorations and entertainment, and shop locally. Many businesses offer special discounts on these nights. The second Invitation Night kicks off tomorrow, December 13, and the last one wraps up December 20.
Grab some friends and stroll around decorated State and Pleasant Streets, stopping into your favorite stores for wine, hors d’oeurves, discounts, or live music. Don’t miss Newburyport’s grand Christmas Tree in Market Square.
Have an adults-only night after you drop off the kids at City Hall Auditorium for a screening of a holiday movie complete with popcorn, hosted by Newburyport Youth Services. Children in grades one through five are welcome. For more information, call 978-465-4434.
