Metzy’s Taqueria
Newburyport
Watch social media to catch owner Erik Metzdorf’s taco truck—it’s often found summering at the Plum Island Airfield, but might be turning up in other spots to serve their delicious steak tacos, the popular veggie sweet potato burrito, and maybe even the overstuffed lobster taco if you’re lucky. The truck is a fixture in the community, as is Metzdorf, who responded quickly to the pandemic back in March, setting aside hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards for families in need.

Rusty Can
Byfield
Eagle-eyed social media watchers can spot the Can’s food truck turning up at area breweries—though you can also rent it for private functions. The menu is a shortened version of the Can’s classic bbq with an emphasis on stuff you can eat with your hands—think tacos, sandwiches, and some fried stuff like hush puppies and sticky bacon sticks (confit and fried smoked bacon dipped in a sweet sauce).
