Thomas E. Lannon, Gloucester
The building of the Thomas E. Lannon, modeled after early 20th-century fishing schooners, was a labor of love by owner Tom Ellis, who had long wanted a schooner of his own. And this love for the boat and all it represents is readily apparent to passengers, from the attention paid to maintaining the vessel to the warmth and skill of the crew. Public sails around Gloucester Harbor are offered daily throughout the summer, and special themed events —from yoga sails to stargazing cruises—are regularly scheduled to take the experience to the next level.
