If you’re in search of fun Things to Do in Greater Newburyport during the Winter months, The Old Newbury Bonfire is absolutely the most popular event in January and one of the top events of the winter season. Even better, the Bonfire is an important annual fundraiser helping to support the Newbury volunteer fire department and Historic New England.
The Newbury Fire Department typically sparks up this amazing bonfire at dusk, which tends to be at approximately 4:30 pm. We encourage folks to bundle up and arrive early leaving time to tour the historic 1690 farm house of Spencer Peirce Little Farm between 3-4 pm.
The Old Newbury Bonfire is a local tradition and the ultimate example of New Englanders making the most of the cold winter season! This family friendly social event features local vendors offering: food, beer, wine, and hot chocolate, available for purchase.
