From its humble beginnings 200 years ago as a one-day cattle show, the Topsfield Fair has blossomed into a 10-day extravaganza that is one of the North Shore’s most cherished traditions. Topsfield is everything you want an agricultural fair to be: You can ride a carousel, sample cider and whoopie pies, pet calves and rabbits, and, of course, gawk at the giant pumpkins.
