Holy Cow Ice Cream
Gloucester
It turns out there is such a thing as bad ice cream, but you may not realize it until you’ve had the best. In the past two years Holy Cow has received nine awards from the National Ice Cream Retailers Association. The Gloucester location is the original store; the second shop is at 86 Andover Street in Peabody.

Richardson’s Ice Cream
Middleton
There aren’t too many North Shore natives who didn’t grow up going to Richardson’s a time or two (or 20). It’s such a tradition that even standing in line on a summer night waiting for your favorite flavor is part of the fun. It also doesn’t hurt that the ice cream is delicious.
