2024 Food Truck

Editors' choice (sweet)

Pipe Dream Cupcakes, North Andover

Pipe Dream Cupcakes’ regular menu includes some 100 flavors, each more creative and intriguing than the last: brown sugar salted caramel, s’mores, white chocolate raspberry. The truck, found around Andover and North Andover, stocks six to 10 of these options at a time (plus the occasional new flavor or special), so you’ll have to return frequently to taste the full gamut. If you can’t wait for your favorite to rotate in, you can always place a custom order. 978-397-6470, pipedreamcupcakes.com

Editors' choice (savory) Tie

The Lobster Roller, Gloucester

As its name suggests, the Lobster Roller focuses on the area’s favorite crustacean. The menu includes lobster rolls (with your choice of mayo or butter) and lobster grilled cheese, as well as chowder, hot dogs, and smashburgers. If you don’t catch the truck at its usual haunt along Rogers St. on the Gloucester waterfront, you can stop by the new brick-and-mortar location in downtown Rockport. Rogers St., Gloucester, 978-290-2370, thelobsterroller.com

Metzy’s, Newburyport

Before owner Erik Metzdorf opened the perennially popular Metzy’s Cantina at the Newburyport train station, he ran a food truck. While the stationary operation has taken off, the food truck is still a North Shore fixture, serving selections from the restaurant’s menu of flavorful tacos, stuffed burritos, and other Mexican bites. To find out where the truck will be slinging pulled chicken and carne asada next, follow @metzyscantina on social media. 978-255-7347, metzys.com

North Shore Beefie Boys, Newburyport

The owners of the Beefie Boys food truck claim to have the best roast beef three-way on the North Shore. Them’s fighting words in this region, but the sandwiches they turn out put them in contention. The menu also includes burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and even fried Oreos. Check the calendar online to find out where they will be popping up next. beefieboys.com
