The Wine ConneXtion located in North Andover, MA, is once again, offering guests an impressive lineup of complimentary wine tastings this winter. Every Saturday from 1:00PM-5:00PM, the expert staff will be pouring a variety of wines for guests to sample, ranging in price, varietal, theme and region. Consistently offering the best prices in the area, guests can expect to be introduced to new wines and educated on the weekly wines. All tastings are complimentary and open to the public, guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

The Wine ConneXtion will take you on a journey, sharing their knowledge and passion while revealing excellent and affordable picks from Piedmont, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Sicily and other well-known wine producing regions in Italy. From distinctive reds to unusual whites, guests are invited to sip their way and to explore the wonderful offerings this great wine producing country has to offer.
February 25th, 2017: Battle of the Big Cabs
Swords will collide and glasses will be raised on the much anticipated annual “Battle of the Big Cabs” tasting. This year The Wine ConneXtion is going global and they’ll be pouring some of the biggest, boldest cabernets from around the world. This tasting will feature new wineries along with old favorites.
Who better to make suggestions than the people who work with wine all day long. At this tasting, each staff member will recommend his or her favorite bottle of wine, along with a reason why it is just that. Guests will taste an assortment of varietals at varying price points and, as always, staff will be on-hand to discuss the distinguishing features of each bottle.
Wine Director Sam Messina, will let guests in on some of his favorite “everyday” wines as well as his favorite “special occasion” wines at this complimentary tasting. Sam has always had a saying; “There’s good wine to be found at any price…you just need to find them.” At this tasting Sam will be pouring wines that have a great price point with flavor to match!
Special Guest pourer Vic Zelinsky will be pouring the award-winning wines of Nick Goldschmidt. The Goldschmidt Vineyard label is a program designed to showcase single vineyard source wines from both the Alexander Valley and Napa Valley Oakville appellations. The goal is to create wines that highlight the distinct characters, benefits and attributes derived from these site specific harvests. Grapes are currently the third biggest crop in Spain and because of its primarily dry climate, Spain is right behind France and Italy in its wine production quantities. At this special tasting the experts at The Wine ConneXtion will lead guests on a tour of Spain’s wine regions and unique varietals like Tempranillo, Garnacha & Monastrell and fall in love them the way they love Cabernet, Chardonnay and Merlot.
Special guest Dave Phillips, Wine Owner of Michael David Winery, is making the trip to North Andover for this special event. Guests can meet and have their wines signed by Phillips himself while trying some of their most popular wines including crowd favorites like their Rapture Cabernet, Lust Zinfandel and Ink Blot wine series.
