The Pentucket athletic complex revitalization is officially underway! This $2.6 million dollar project is a reflection of the district’s ongoing efforts to build a world-class educational experience.

The improved complex will include tennis courts, softball field, a new track and infield, practice field, and field hockey venue.

Although Groveland, Merrimac, and West Newbury committed $700,000 in 2012, cost estimates ballooned when multiple fields could not be resurfaced.  Without hesitation the Pentucket Regional School Committee and administrators launched a year-long effort to transform the facilities. The result was a plan that would give them the facility without additional cost to taxpayers.

“Revitalizing this part of the athletic complex is a tremendous step for the district in improving its value for the community,” said Pentucket Regional Superintendent Jeff Mulqueen.

The anticipated date of completion has been set to September 1, 2014. prsd.org
