Boston Marriott Burlington invites budding musicians, students, and talented local artists to CHOPPS American Bar and Grill this November for the inaugural Burlington Idol competition. Submissions to compete in the live singing competition are open now through October 10. The Burlington Idol competition will welcome local performers to the stage every Monday evening in November for a chance to win a grand prize and the title of Burlington Idol.

Award-winning musician Jay Psaros of PB and Jay Records will host and emcee the competition which kicks off on Monday, November 5 at 6:30PM with 15 performers selected from online submissions. The performers will showcase their talent at CHOPPS in front of a live audience of friends, family, the Greater Burlington community, and three local celebrity judges. The rotating lineup of special judges will select the top performers based on technical ability, stage presence, and crowd reaction in order to advance to the following week. Five performers will be eliminated each week until the top three performers sing on the final evening Monday, November 26 for the ultimate title.

“Following on the heels of other successful initiatives, the hotel and CHOPPS are committed to being a strong partner within the Burlington area community,” says Boston Marriott Burlington general manager Philip Bond.  “To this end, we’re proud to sponsor the first annual Burlington Idol competition and support young and professional musicians alike.”

The Burlington Idol winner will be awarded a prize pack valued at $2,000, including $500 in cash, an overnight stay at Boston Marriott Burlington with breakfast for two at CHOPPS, and two “live take” professional videos provided by PB and Jay Records. The runner-up of Burlington Idol will be awarded a $250 cash prize, dinner for four at CHOPPS and a half-hour career consultation from PB and Jay Records. The second-runner up prize winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to CHOPPS.
