Marblehead Festival of Arts to Hold Logo Premiere Party January 26, 2010
Marblehead, MA (January 7, 2010) – The public is invited to the Marblehead Festival of Arts Annual Logo Premiere Party on Tuesday, January 26, from 7–9 pm, at The Landing Restaurant, 81 Front Street, Marblehead. The Logo Premiere Party will feature the announcement of the 2010 Logo Contest winner, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
Every year, the Festival is represented by a new logo, the result of a design competition. This year’s Logo Contest featured 98 entries from Essex County professional graphic artists, art hobbyists, and art students. A panel of three judges selected 20 semifinalists and then four finalists, and the winner was selected by public ballot at voting locations in Marblehead, Beverly, Lynn, Salem, and Swampscott. On January 26, the award-winning logo will be announced and shown for the first time, and an award will be presented to the winning artist. The finalist and semifinalist logo entries will be on display.
The Logo Premiere Party has become a fun way to “chase away the winter blues,” meet and greet Festival friends, and hear about Festival plans in the making. The Marblehead Festival of Arts is an all-volunteer organization, and Festival Board Members will be on hand to answer any questions attendees may have regarding volunteer opportunities. Preparations are underway for fundraising events, exhibits, and performing arts that all require help. The public is invited to “come join in the fun.” See the four finalist designs and the award-winning logos of the past forty-seven years on the Festival Web site, MarbleheadFestival.org.
