LITTLE PIGGY

At Downriver Ice Cream current flavors include coconut frozen yogurt, Spice Island, which is made with real nutmeg grown in Grenada. In June and July, they will be offering Little Piggy, a chocolate-covered bacon ice cream in a maple. “It’s like a breakfast sandwich in an ice cream, and should be tasted, even if it’s unconventional as far as flavors go,” says owner Bennett Ahearn.

CRUNCH-A-SAURUS

Richardson’s Ice Cream is featuring Peach (made with real peaches) as the summer’s special flavor. Also available are Maine Black Bear, a red raspberry ice cream with chocolate chips and chocolate covered raspberry truffles, and Crunch-a-Saurus, a blue vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered Krispies and a soft fudge swirl. All three flavors will be scooped throughout the summer at both the Middleton and Reading locations.

CAMPFIRE S’MORES

Salem Screamery is offering Campfire S’mores, a toasted marshmallow flavored ice cream with a graham cracker swirl and chocolate chunks; Blueberry, made with vanilla ice cream and blended with real blueberry purée; and the delicious top-selling Graham Central Station, a graham-flavored ice cream with a graham cracker swirl and milk chocolate-covered honeycomb crunch. Keep an eye out: in mid summer, they’ll begin making their own ice cream in fun flavors like: Banana with Caramelized White Chocolate, Chocolate Lavender, Spicy Pineapple Sorbet, and more!
