Reebok continues to demonstrate its growth and investment in running with the announcement of a new partnership with Midnight Runners, a large UK-based run club that is growing its energetic and shared brand of running to multiple countries, including the United States.
After recently debuting in Berlin, Midnight Runners will host the U.S. launch in Boston on October 27, welcoming more than 500 runners for a 10K run throughout the city of Boston that starts at the Boston Commons. The partnership with Reebok will give Midnight Runners the opportunity to expand event further across the globe, with 10 key cities targeted over the next three years, including New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Paris and more
“We are very excited to announce our newest strategic partnership with Midnight Runners. One of the pillars of Reebok Running is to help support and grow the running community, and our partnership with Midnight Runners shows our continued dedication in the space. The club developed a special community in London, and we are excited to help them expand internationally, with no better place to start than right here in Boston,” says Scott Daley, general manager of running at Reebok.
Midnight Runners have set themselves apart from other run clubs in London by developing a unique sense of community. The club offers weekly 10k runs, with exercise stops mixed in along the way, and music playing from portable speakers throughout. The club is looking to take this model, refined in London, directly to Boston and its other new communities. Reebok will also host a crew member summit with the Midnight Runners crew captains from around the world to continue to create innovative ways to curate a great community experience with each of their runs. Additionally, a loyalty program will help incentivize runners to get out there and run and be given the opportunity to provide feedback on various Reebok gear runners can test out during these events.
“When we led our first run through the bright lights of London back in 2015, we never imagined that we’d be expanding our running community over to Boston, and beyond. We believe that having the support of Reebok will encourage people from around the globe to engage in urban fitness,” says Greg Drach, co-founder of Midnight Runners.
The Boston launch event will kick off the club’s global expansion in the U.S. and celebrate their new partnership with Reebok as the brand opens their new HQ in the heart of the city. Open to 500 people at 8 p.m., the Midnight Runners crew will lead and join the inaugural run with the local Boston community. Attendees will have the chance to try on product prior to the run – including Reebok’s highest performing running shoe, the Floatride and Midnight Runner’s Tee – at Rock Bottom before a quick warm up at the Boston Commons. The event will commence at the Commons and the run will be amped by music and colored with glow sticks before culminating at Rock Bottom for the official after party complete with drinks, food, and music.
Boston Midnight Runners will lead their weekly boot camps along the Charles River every Tuesday night beginning November 7. For more details visit midnightrunners.com.
