Salem Theatre Company is excited to announce open auditions for its August production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Auditions will take place at Salem Theatre on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23 from 6pm-9pm. Callbacks will be Thursday, May 26.
To sign up to audition please go to http://www.salemtheatre.com/auditions and click the “Sign Up to Audition” button. A one minute, contemporary monologue in the style of the play is preferred. Pieces from JUDAS are discouraged, however, pieces from other Stephen Adly Guirgis plays are welcome. Please arrive ten minutes early to complete an audition form and remember to bring a resume and headshot with you.
The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is a darkly comic and contemporary retelling of Judas’s last days on earth. Playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis reconstructs the historical tale of in the form of Judas’s trial for his betrayal of Jesus. A funny and often touching look at forgiveness and relationships JUDAS offers a vibrantly modern view of the most infamous trial in history. Directed by Alicia Greenwood. The production will run August 11 – 27, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm.
Salem Theatre Company is now located at 35 Congress Street (Shetland Park). We are a 15 minute walk from the commuter rail and located on the MBTA bus line. When arriving we are in the first white building at Shetland Park directly on Congress Street. Parking is readily available. Go up the stairs and in the front door and take the elevator to the third floor. STC is located just outside the elevator on the third floor.
