It is no question that Boston’s North Shore hosts an enormous array of fabulous restaurants, old and new. Conveniently located off the intersection of I-95 and US1 in Danvers, the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore offers both travelers and area residents a memorable upscale dining experience. Not exclusively for hotel guests, TradeWinds restaurant is a true North Shore gem, and the perfect location for family dinners, date night, and beyond.
TradeWinds is led by executive chef Trevor Douglas, whose past culinary experience includes top-notch kitchens such as Haversham Inn Restaurant of Westerly, Rhode Island; Stone Croft Country Inn of Ledyard, Connecticut; and The Hotel Viking of Newport, Rhode Island. A graduate of Birmingham College of Food and Domestic Arts in Birmingham, England, Douglas prides himself on using fresh local ingredients and putting a spin on classic favorites. It’s important to Douglas to buy from local businesses such as Cambridge Packing Company, who provides the restaurant with top-quality certified Black Angus meats.
Featuring a little something for everyone and focusing on American favorites, TradeWinds offers creative cuisine to please every palate. The Flat Iron Steak is grilled to perfection then topped with sundried tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, hickory smoked bacon, and balsamic drizzle. Diners enjoy a twist on a classic sandwich with the New England “Lobsta” Roll, which is served on a fresh buttered and griddled brioche bun.
The Penne, Cozze and Gamberetto features steamed mussels, jumbo shrimp, mushrooms, baby spinach, tomatoes, and broccoli tossed with penne pasta and an herbed seafood broth. Douglas loves this dish in particular as he says, “It speaks to what the North Shore is all about: fresh seafood!” TradeWinds features a menu that local residents shouldn’t miss, taking signature items from farm to table, from classic to inventive, and from the heart of the kitchen to your plate.
Open seven days a week, TradeWinds Restaurant also offers seasonal and creative buffets. Children will enjoy the special kids buffet featuring all of their favorites. Families can easily make a day trip out of it, as Coco Key Water Park is adjacent the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore. Of note, Coco Key Water Park just released its new menu at Gator’s Grab & Go and the Wet Rooster Bar. Gator’s serves up favorites like pizza, steak and cheese bombs, as well as fresh salads. Many of the meals are also available as family values—meals for the whole family. The Wet Rooster Bar lets adults enjoy a tropical beverage and light fare while children play close by.
DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore, TradeWinds Restaurant, and Coco Key Water Park are all located at 50 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, MA 01923.
