In the mood for a burger that will knock your socks off? Is it late-night nosh you crave? Like to shoot a few games of pool? A sports fan on the lookout for a like-minded crowd and high-def TVs? Well, look no further than Lynn’s new Bruno’s Bar + Burger. Just three weeks into the game and chef T. J. Castiello—formerly of Prides Osteria in Beverly—is hitting a homer with his big burgers and neighborhood bar atmosphere. Having trained with chef Paola Laboa at Gloucester’s former Pinoli, Castiello is savvy with spices and values high-quality corn-fed beef. His meat arrives fresh daily and he forms his specially seasoned patties on an as-needed basis. House made guacamole, fried pickles and peppers, and truffle fries earn high marks, as does the cod (when its available from Gloucester). If you want a choice burger and enjoy supporting the new buy on the block, check out Bruno’s—you will be glad you did. 858 Western Ave. Lynn 781-596-2342, brunosbarandburger.com
