The paleo diet (also known as the caveman diet) is based on the foods that our human ancestors most likely ate with a focus on meat, fish, fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, and root vegetables. Those looking to lose weight and fitness enthusiasts were early adopters of the diet, but this way of eating has shown to be beneficial for all. Research indicates, it may very well be our modern diet, full of refined foods, trans fats and sugar, that may be at the root of degenerative diseases such as: obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression and infertility.
Burtons Grill & Bar will be launching its all new Paleo Diet Menu on June 27, 2016 at all Massachusetts locations. The menu is comprised of Burtons Grill & Bar favorites that have been modified to meet the paleo diet criteria. All of the items on the menu follow the guidelines of the paleo diet. “A lot of our customers ask for modifications to meet dietary restrictions. For us it’s not about following fads, it’s about being proactive to the needs of our customers. We’re currently running numerous menus at our restaurants, from vegetarian, to Gluten Free and even a children’s menu that meets the national nutritional standards. We’re a lifestyle brand and we want to be inclusive to all our customers and our Paleo menu simply speaks to that,” said Kevin Harron, CEO of Burtons Grill & Bar.
