Newburyport is one of the best places to wander the streets and admire houses. From stately mansions built by sea captains to picturesque waterfront homes, nearly every corner of this seaside city is bursting with history, character and charm. And while admiring homes from the outside is a favorite pastime of many, you now have the chance to admire the interiors of some of the area’s finest homes (including everybody’s favorite room, the kitchen!) – courtesy of the 19th Annual Newburyport Kitchen Tour. Taking place on Saturday, July 27, the tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature ten private, residential kitchens and grounds. Each home on this year’s tour is unique and beautiful in its own right, showcasing the talent and skill of many of the best architects, builders and interior designers on the north shore. From state-of-the-art renovations in historic homes to impressive new construction, there’s something to delight every aesthetic. The price of admission includes one of the tour’s most anticipated features, “A Taste of the Port” which provides complimentary tastings throughout the day at many of the tour’s homes from beloved area eateries including Buttermilk Baking Company, Chococoa Baking Company, The Angry Donut, The Poynt, and many more.”
This year’s tour celebrates our 19th year in offering a chance to see where historical design meets modern amenities. We welcome guests from near and far, exploring a wide portfolio of homes, with many featuring complimentary tastings from the exceptional restaurants, chefs, brew masters and bakers demonstrating all that Newburyport has to offer” explains Dorene Olsen, one of the tour’s organizers. Furthermore, “as one of the first Yankee Homecoming events, we have added stellar homes in both Newbury and Point Shore Amesbury to best represent the Greater Newburyport region and have expanded home viewing hours from 10am-4pm.”
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 the day of, with all proceeds going to a great cause, the Newburyport public elementary schools, grades pre-k through eight.
