Q: How did you get into the restaurant business?
A: I’ve been around restaurants my whole life. My dad [Executive Chef Bob Rossetti] was always cooking when I was growing up and I developed a passion for restaurants that I pursued for four years at Johnson and Wales and then through working at six different restaurants around Boston.
Q: Why Lynn?
A: We looked for four years, but no place felt right until here [in Lynn]. We loved the space, love what is happening with the city right now and are extremely happy to be a part of it. There is no reason this area can’t be a Boston style dining district.
Q: What is your connection with the North Shore?
A: I’m from Revere and I’ve lived there my whole life. Right now I live in Wakefield. It’s great to see how this area is growing, just like Salem did 20 years ago. We draw from Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead and all the surrounding areas. The more restaurants that come to Lynn, the more people will come from all over to eat here.
Q: What do you want people to feel when they eat at Rossetti?
A: I want people to feel like they are family, like they are Kings and Queens. I want people to leave here feeling like they already want to come back. We focus on hundreds of little details because we love what we do and we want people to feel that. Friendliness, Professionalism and Knowledge are the three major keys to hospitality, I think.
Q: What is your favorite dish on the menu?
A: It’s impossible for me to choose. I eat something different from or off the menu every day. I’m drawn to every different item for a different reason. We wrote the menu to be like that.
