Hundreds of the North Shore’s most stylish gathered last night to celebrate the Grand Opening of the newest Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams location, a 10,000-square-foot showroom located at Burlington’s chic 3rd Ave. Known for its top quality, eco-friendly furniture and its effortless mix of classic and modern aesthetics, the brand is a natural fit for the “smart, sophisticated style” of North Shore homeowners, according to co-founder and president of design Bob Williams. Chairman Mitchell Gold adds, “At an event like tonight, we get to meet people who love our furniture—they may have one piece or they may use our designs to furnish their entire home. We’re so happy to be able to create these pieces that make a house into a home.”

The night’s special guest, Robin Wilson, advocates for clean design and healthy living and serves on the board of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Wilson signed complimentary copies of her award-winning book, Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle, a resource for homeowners looking for tips on improving their health and wellness while maintaining effortless style. “I recommend Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams to anyone looking to improve their quality of life,” Wilson says. “They’re eco-friendly, they use non-toxic materials, and they omit harmful chemicals like flame retardants that most furniture companies use.”

Each Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams event benefits a different charity; for the Burlington opening, local charity Mission of Deeds was the perfect match. The Reading-based non-profit provides furniture and other household essentials for local people in need of a comfortable home, including the formerly homeless, displaced veterans, and survivors of domestic violence. “We’re so grateful for the support of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams,” says Executive Director Bruce Murison. “They’ve infused their business with a culture of giving.” All proceeds of the night’s raffle and silent auction benefited Mission of Deeds; among the prizes were two shopping sprees to Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams locations in Boston, Natick, or Burlington, worth $2500 and $1500, as well as an MGBW Sergio leather chair, tickets to the Red Sox, and a holiday gingerbread house donated by the night’s caterer, Boston-based Max Ultimate Food.

Store owners Andrew Terrat and Steve Elbaz were instrumental in the night’s success, welcoming new customers and old friends. “We’re thrilled to see such an amazing response,” says Terrat. “Some people know us already and are pleased to have such a spacious showroom to explore Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams style, while other customers haven’t heard of us yet, and are looking to know more. It’s a wonderful chance to expose our brand.” Terrat and Elbaz own Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams stores in Boston and Natick, but the move to Burlington was a perfect next step, according to Terrat: “We wanted a location that would be more convenient for our customers north of Boston. Not everyone wants to drive into the city, so when we heard that the Nordblom Company was opening a lifestyle center in Burlington, we grabbed this incredible location.”
