On March 1, 2017 Cedardale Health & Fitness was lost to a massive fire leaving many residents of the Merrimack Valley without their favorite health club. From day one the Veasey family and its dedicated staff have reassured its members that Cedardale would be rebuilt.
On Monday, November 20, the Cedardale Team in conjunction with Mailloux Brothers Construction of Methuen, and S3 Design of Braintree, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony marking the initial stage of reconstruction. The new 140,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility will incorporate many of the familiar favorites of the old club including a four-lane lap pool, 10-indoor tennis courts, two basketball courts, and several group fitness studios. In addition, the new Cedardale will feature a warm water therapy pool, a lifestyle lounge with a juice bar and a full-service food and beverage operation as well as a great viewing area for tennis. The multiple fitness areas will feature cutting edge cardio and strength equipment with ample room for functional training. An elevated running/walking track will also allow members to view the multipurpose gym space below. There will be a dedicated cycling studio with tiered levels, and a specialized yoga studio flooded with natural light for members to find their inner balance and peace of mind.
The new club will allow the Cedardale family to bring health and fitness back to the surrounding Merrimack Valley community in ways not possible in the original club making this a very exciting project.
Cedardale Health & Fitness was the largest multipurpose membership-based health, fitness and recreation facility in New England operating for over 45 years and home to over 4,000 members prior to the fire on March 1.
